We flew out to Toronto this morning and Canada is weird. So after getting to the airport quite early, we boarded an Air Canada flight. About an hour and ten minutes later we land at Pearson airport. We both had to use the facilities really bad. Could we find some bathrooms? No.
So we get to customs and find some restrooms, Going through customs was weird. They asked us all these questions but they were very nice. We get our bags, get some weird Canadian money and grab a cab to the city.
All areas near airports look exactly the same. So after about 20 minutes we arrive at the Metropolitan Hotel. It is very swanky for something found on Hotels.com. Four stars I believe. We check in, a little early and then got up to our room.
Some one told Ani that when you’re in Toronto you need to try a street hot dog. So we grab a few. For starters they are huge and they have so many different toppings. And they were good. We were just trying to get the lay of the land; we walk over to this big building. And ask a guard what this building was. He said it was parliament, and we could go inside and watch the session. It was amazing. The majority party was yelling at the others and vice a versa.
After a while we walked around and found the Eaton center which is this huge underground shopping area. We ended up at this wine and beer place. I bought a bunch of beer including a 10% version of Axe from Denmark. I need to find out how much beer I can bring back to New York. We got some food. A little Indian and some Trinidadian/West Indian roti. Holy shit was it good, very remincent of Jackie’s Hot o Hot.
We took our food back to our room and enjoyed. We went down to the pool and chilled for a while. Ani and I kicked backed. Tomorrow should be fun, hitting Little Italy, China Town, and the Entertainment District, and then watching the Mets take on the Blue Jays at the former Sky dome.
